Round Pools
- Divide the pool size by 2 to get the pool’s radius. example: 24′ pool / 2 = 12′ radius
- Find where you would like the center of the pool
- Affix one end of tape measure at center of pool and measure out the radius computed in #1.
- Walk in a circle to see where the edge of the pool will be.
- Move center and repeat process to see which spot and size works best.
Oval Pools
- Measure a Rectangle using the pool measurements.
- Each corner of the Rectangle can be cut off after drawing out to make the oval shape.
- Add 3′ to both sides to account for side braces.
Things to Consider When Measuring
- The pool should be at least 5 feet from the house and fence.
- Avoid overhead electrical lines. Phone and cable lines overhead are not a problem.
- Avoid underground gas lines and underground electrical lines.
- An 8 foot opening is required to get equipment into the yard to level the ground.
